White Pines Card Workshop On The Go

Christmas cards you say?  Why yes, I did.  As we are nearing the end of October, and the air has quite the chill in it, my thoughts are of Christmas Cards!  Actually, my card club ladies have been Christmas card making for several months already, but I know not everyone shares our passion of creating our cards early-early in the season.  This year, Close To My Heart has delivered a beautiful, classic, timeless, and simple-to-create Workshop on the Go for the White Pines paper collection.  In this Workshop On The Go, you will have all the materials that you need to create three card designs with 5 each of those 3 designs for a total of 15 cards.  Your kit will also include Fern Baker's Twine, Clear Sparkles, the adorable must-have exclusive stamp set, card bases and envelopes, and a detailed colored guide with instructions to create these cards.  All that you will need to create the cards are the adhesives of your choice, My Acrylic Blocks, Cranberry, Fern, Black and Cashmere Exclusive Ink Pads -- all of which can be purchased on my website at: www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com and shipped directly to your home.  If you are type of cardmaker who likes to create lots of different cards and not duplicates, you can also either host your own card buffet with me, or come to one of my upcoming card buffets where you can create by the card.  Whichever option you choose, these cards are certain to delight the recipients on your list!  To find out more details about my card buffets, or hosting your own, where you can earn free and discounted products, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.

Laughing Lola Cardmaking Workshop On The Go

Monday will be our first regular card club session of the new Fall/Winter 2013 Idea Book.  My card club is an open club where there are no purchasing commitments and card makers can come to club each month when it suits their schedules.  The card class is $10 which includes the card bases and envelopes, the needed pre-cut pieces and embellishments to create the cards in class.  Participants may purchase coordinating ink pads, and sometimes tools or embellishments that were used in class, at a discounted rate.  My club meets at the Hill's in Broadway (9872 Harpine Highway--which is directly on route 42) from 6:15-9:00PM on the 3rd Monday of the month.  Christmas Card Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month.

This month's card club will feature the Laughing Lola Card Making Workshop on the Go.  We will create two each of the three cards designed by CTMH (with a few alterations) and 2 each of a bonus card that I have designed.

Because this is a company designed kit, participants will have three options for class.
1.  The option of paying the $10 for the regular class.
2.  The option of paying $22 for the class and the featured stamp set.
3. The option to purchase the complete Workshop on the Go Kit for $28.00 (after shipping and tax) .  For this option, I will prep the full kit for you for you.  The kit includes 5 of each of the three company designs.  You will still create 2 of each and my 2 bonus cards but will have the supplies prepped for you to go home and create the remaining 9 cards with.  Note:  Those wanting a full kit, will need to let me know prior to class so that I can prepare the kits for them.

Click here to see the workshop flyer.
Supplies used: If you have the following supplies, please bring them with you to class.  Black, Outdoor Denim, Crystal Blue and Pear Exclusive Ink Pads; Fine tip scissors; 30d foam tape, Mini Glue Dots and adhesive of choice, and a Sanding Kit.  We will using the Artiste' Cricut Cartridge.

Pear and a Partridge Workshop On The Go

Unlike my last few Workshop On The Go's that I have posted, I stayed pretty close to the design of the Pear and Partridge design and kit.  I did do a few minor tweaks but for the most part, my photographs worked great with what was given.  One of the things that drew me to this layout was that it features standard 4" x 6" photographs (with the one exception in the top left corner, but even that one was a trimmed down version of a 4" x 6" photograph.  AND, the layout features both horizontal and vertical photographs...which I take both.  I often am challenged by a layout design that uses only one or only the other so this was perfect for my picture taking eye!

Close To My Heart's Pear and Partridge Workshop On The Go:

If you are in love with this layout, or the kit, Close To My Heart is officially sold out; however I do have a few left.  You are welcome to come and join us in class this week, or e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com and you can buy just the kit from me at the price of $34.00.   (shipping and charges of $9.00 if applicable).

Click here for the workshop flyer that shows off both the featured layout, the alternate layout and the stamp set that is included in kit.  Also included are a pack of the Pear and Partridge Rub-ons and the Pink and Red Sparkle assortment.

La Belle Vie Workshop On The Go - My Style

In my opinion, the best thing about scrapbooking with CTMH's Workshop On The Go's is that I can create them my way!  A tweak here and a tweak there and the layout can have a completely different feel.  For my layout, I chose to substitute the bases where Close To My Heart had a patterned paper to a solid black.  And in the alternate layout (bonus layout), I did exactly the opposite: CTMH had a solid cardstock as the base which I switched to a pattered paper.  Love, love, love it!

For January's Workshop On The Go Club, we will be using the La Belle Vie and I have to share a secret...this was not my favorite paper pack from the Fall/Winter Idea Book.  The french flair...it just didn't shout to me from the rooftops...but then I played with it...and NOW, I can't get enough of it!  I pulled the colors and the pattern papers that attracted me and created, created, created~!  Funny how that happens!

The La Belle Vie Workshop is still available from Close To My Heart until January 31st, or while supplies last.  You can use this link and order your own set here.  Or, I have a few WTG kits left, as well as a paper pack or two.  Feel free to e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com

My Club's WTG class will be this week in Broadway.  If you would like details on the time and place, send me an e-mail.  We are pretty flexible and can arrange to class to coincide with your time schedule as well.

And this is my version of the alternate layout.  I used the Artiste' Cricut Cartridge to create the cute title.  And for the record, these pictures are from my husband's 40th birthday!  I'm still in my 30's!  (Just don't tell my kids...they think I am still 29!  :)

Workshops to Go at their finest!!

CTMH has outdone themselves again with the Topstitch Workshop To Go! The exclusive layout design is delightful and the papers just be to be used for baby pictures! At least, they did for me! I love the versatility of the papers as they can be used for a boy (as I did here) or a girl, or even for non-baby projects!

My creation of this particular layout has special meaning to me as I asked my husband to journal for our son about his birth...I think it is important to record his memories and thoughts for the children, not just my own. My husband never ceases to amaze me as his words were perfect!! His words ensembled with the photographs and the layout will make this a layout that I am sure Gabriel will cherish forever.

some of the little details.

My challenge for those reading this...incorporate someone else's journaling into a layout of your own. You will be delightfully surprised at the results and you never know, they might really enjoy being a part of your memories. Who knows, they might even turn into a scrapbooker too!

red socks...a play on Dr. Suess

Maybe we have been reading a little to much of Hop on Pop and the Go Dog Go...but this layout just called out for a rhythm...so that is how I did my journaling! I know many of my friends struggle with journaling, but truly, it can be in any form...paragraph form, bullet points, in song, 3rd person, 1st person or even rhythm! My little rhythm reads like this:

"Red socks here,
red socks there.
Look, there are red socks everywhere.

Little red socks,
big red socks,
lots of in between
sized red socks.

Argyle or solid,
plain or designer…
even Buckeye red socks…
what could be finer?

Christmas just would not
be the same
if without red socks
someone came!

The wearing of the red socks…
a Smith family tradition. "

This layout actually originated as the Jingle Workshop To Go, but I needed more traditional Christmas colors so I created the layout in Evensong instead. I am thrilled with how it turned out! If you too would like to create this layout, the Workshop To Go is on December 13th. You may choose from Evensong, Jingle, or Animal Cookie. Can't make it, you can purchase the kit to complete at a later date. I also am more than happy to ship the kit to you! Click here for workshop details.

Still Twitterpating...
Still loving this new paper collection! It is a reminder that Fall is almost upon us! And I do truly love the fall season! It's Beginning to feel alot like Christmas...

In August?? When you work in retail, that is very true to the case! On Wednesday, we set the first large shipment of Christmas products at Michael's...it was super hot out, and yet, I still longed for Hot Chocolate! Amazing how that works! So, anyway, since I was in the Christmas "spirit" anyway, and since there are no rules to when you scrapbook what, I thought I would post this Christmas layout! This is inspired from the Evensong Workshop To Go How-To Program! I altered it to make it more of my style, but after all, isn't that what scrapbooking is all about? I love the journaling!! Although I can not take credit for it, the WTG has the journaling in the form of a Christmas tree--but it is hand journaled--it was a challenge to structure the journaling into "tree" form. I am delighted with how it turned out, and I couldn't resist adding a jewel to the top of the tree! If you look closely, you will see several others throughout the layout.

Supplies used: Evensong Level 2 Paper Pack & My Stickease, Cranberry & New England Ivy Cardstock, Jewel, Cranberry Ribbon and Chocolate Alphabet (large) Stamp Set.

The "Awesomeness" of the Workshops To Go!

Close To My Heart has an awesome (can you sense my excitement??) program that they introduced in the fall called "Workshops To Go". The workshops are designed with a budget in mind, and to help you get the most out of your purchasing experiences! There are several tiers to the workshops--a Basic which includes a full pack of paper, the coordinating My Stickeases, and a few bulk embellishments. The next step, the Better is a little bit higher in price, and adds some additional embellishments. The Best then adds a coordinating stamp set. A level for everyone! Part of the magic of this program is that each level comes with an Exclusive Workshop Guide. This guide takes you step-by-step through the creating of your layout--complete with cutting measurements. You can tweak wherever you see fit! And you can even change the paper collection as I have done below! PLUS, there are two additional layouts, and several card ideas, included that you can make with your leftovers (and by using the specified How-To-Book as a reference. I love them! and keep going back!

To show you how it works, this is the Daydream WTG as presented from the company.

This is the layout that I created with the Daydream Workshop To Go! It is the same paper collection, just variant B&T papers. I eliminated the Sweet Leaf for a softer look and replaced the "candies" with buttons as the embellishments.

Using the same Daydream Workshop To Go Guide, I changed the paper pack to Free Spirit. I used the same concepts, measurements, etc. but the different paper made it look like a completely different layout.

(Click here for more detailed images of both of my layouts.)

Want to experience the "awesomeness" for yourself?
The next Workshop To Go, Animal Cookie, is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th. There are still spaces available.
For more information, click here.

If you would like to join us, contact me as soon as possible to reserve your seat!

The July Workshop To Go, is featuring the Moon Doggie Collection! Perfect for summer pictures, beach pictures, and so many other options! The date for this WTG is July 16th from 6-8:30. Click here for details.

Or, if you would like to do a either of these WTG's, or even a previous one, with your friends, you can host one and reap the benefits! I still have summer opening left! Ask me how!

Here are a few other WTG's you might like:
