Croptopia Getaways create and take 2:  "Hey there, pumpkin"

cutting guides for the pieces that need to be cut:

Cutting instructions:
Cut full sheet of Sweet Leaf cs into:  (four) 4” x 6” mats and (three) 3” x 4” mats.
Cut full sheet of Goldrush cs into two 4 ¾” x 10 ½” pieces.

Use patterned paper for both left and right bases.  On bases, and from top to bottom, with the pieces flush with the inside edge, adhere the following pieces:
1. Adhere the Slate cs 4” x 8 ¾” piece 1 ¼” from the top edge of the base.
2. Directly below, adhere the 1” x 11” black cs strip.
3. Directly below, adhere the 4 ¾” x 10 ½” Goldrush cs strip.

To create the left side:
1. Adhere a 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf mat in the upper right corner of the Slate cs.  This is approx. ¼” down from the upper edge of the Slate and approx. ¼” from the right edge of the base.
2. Directly below the above mat, adhere the 3” x 4” Sweet Leaf cs mat.  This is also approx. ¼” up from the bottom edge of the Goldrush cs.
3. To the left of the above piece, and in line with the bottom of the same piece, adhere a vertical 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf cs mat.
4. In the left corner of the above photo mat, adhere chipboard pumpkins with foam tape.
5. Directly below the black strip, and to the left of the 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf mat, add Black dots.
6. Adhere the black title over the Sweet Leaf base.  Attach title with 3-d foam tape.  This over laps the top right photo as desired.

To create the right side:
1. Center, and align Sweet Leaf cs mats within the Slate and Goldrush pieces.  The two 3” x 4” mats are at the top and horizontal and the two 4”x 6” mats are on the bottom and are vertical.
2. Add a cluster of Black Dots in the lower right corner as desired.
3. Add a horizontal row of three Black dots along the top of the leftward 3” x 4” photo mat.
4. Adhere Slate 3/8” x 2 ¼” strip to the black strip.  This is flush with the left edge of the Sweet Leaf mat and centered within the black.
5. In the upper right corner of the base, adhere two chipboard pennants as desired.

A blast from the past...Moonlight past!

So, this weekend, we are taking a look back to a favorite Halloween/fall themed paper suite called Moonlight.  I loved the softer, more muted colors in this pack.  So much, that I kept a stocked piled inventory for a special occasion, and Croptopia's Fall getaway was just that occasion!  For this crop, I created two layouts that the scrappers got to choose from for their Create and Takes.  For those at the crop, you are welcome to take these instructions and create your own layouts.

Cutting guides for the pieces in your kit that are not pre-cut.

Note: your Smokey Plum piece/pieces may differ from this piece, but you can still fit the needed cuts.

Cutting instructions:
Cut 1” x 12” black cs strip into four ¼” x 12” strips.
Cut 1” x 12” Charcoal cs strip into two ½” x 11 ½” pieces.
Cut Goldrush cs into two 3” x 12” strips.
Smokey Plum cut into (4) 3 ¼” ” x 4 1/4” mats; use scrap for chipboard mat if desired.
Cut the full Charcoal cs 12” x 12” into the following:  ½” x 12”, ½” x 12”, 5 ¼” x 12”, 5 ¼” x 12”

Use patterned paper for both left and right bases.  On bases, and from top to bottom, adhere the following pieces:
1. Adhere ¼” x 12” black strip 1 ¾” from the top edge of the base.
2. Adhere ½” x 12” Charcoal cs strip (light side up).
3. Adhere 5 ¼” x 12” Charcoal cs strip (dark side up).
4. Adhere 3” x 12” of Goldrush cs (dark side up).
5. Adhere ½” x 11 1/2”
6. Adhere ¼” x 12” black strip on lower edge of Goldrush cs.

To create the left page:
1. Adhere black photo 4 ¼” x 6 ¼” mat approximately 4 ½” from the upper edge base.
2. At an angle, then adhere the 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” Smokey Plum mats.  Note these are raised up on 30d foam tape.
3. On the left Smokey Plum mat, adhere chipboard photo corners over photo and in the lower left corner adhere chipboard cat with foam tape.
4. Adhere choice of chipboard sentiments onto Smokey Plum scrap paper.  Trim so that a border is visible.  Adhere as desired under photos.
5. Add title and black dot embellishments as desired.

To create the right page:
1. Repeat photo mat placement as on the left page.
2. Adhere accent “eek” in the right corner overlapping the black strip.  Adhere black dots to the left and right the chipboard.
3. Adhere a Sweet Leaf 3” x 4” piece of cs for journaling into the left Smokey Plum photo mat.
4. Adhere the chipboard Smokey Plum corners over the right Smokey Plum photo mat.

Just the right amount of Halloween...

...partnered with Close To My Heart's Artbooking Cricut cartridge created a fun, and spooky, but not scary, layout. For this layout, I wanted to challenge myself to use the Artbooking overlays in a layout design from one of CTMH's How To books instead of the designs provided in the Artbooking book.  I found a pattern that would work well with the overlays size and this is what I came up with! I used the retired Moonlight collection for the overlays which added just a slight patterned touch.  To create the Haunted House, I used the Cricut Craft room to stretch the house to fit within the space.  All of the pieces were then inked with Black ink for just a bit more spookiness.  Being shades of black, grey and Smokey plum, I think that the layout will work well with a variety of color palettes from your Halloween pictures.  To see an enlarged view of the layout, simply click on the layout and it will open in a new window.

This layout is available in kits form and are $10 each.  Shipping if applicable is $8 but can be combined with other In All Sassiness Design Class kits.  To order,e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.

30 Studio J's in 30 days - day 28

This was a fun layout that I put together of my kids in their Halloween costumes.  The colors of the costumes created a few color challenges (nothing matched or even came close to color coordinating with Nicholas' Orange outfit) so I went with Honey, Black and White Daisy.  It worked for a quick gift layout.  As I took well over 100 pictures, I am sure I will do a more detailed layout for each child later once we have all of our pictures from Halloween...that is, if there is anymore Halloween...the way we are headed with Blizzard warnings I am somewhat doubtful that Trick-or-treating will happen later this week.  I took these early as the weather was beautiful and the leaves were so pretty..I was afraid if I waited that would not be the case!  Guessing that this Mommy will be getting creative on how to have an indoor Halloween!  lol.

30 Studio J's in 30 days- day 25

For today's layout, I am finishing up Gabey's trip to the pumpkin patch a few years ago when he was in preschool.  I chose to stay with the Moonlight paper collection for this layout, but I used a more monochromatic look.  I tweaked several of the colors (you can't even tell it was the same paper collection) to better compliment the goats and the corn.  I am delighted with how the layout turned out and love the addition of the brads...they just offer that extra little detail!

30 Studio J's in 30 days - day 24

Gabey is my sweet Pumpkin...no doubt!  We had such a terrific time on his preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch I couldn't help but take lots of pictures.  To scrapbook them, I used the Moonlight Paper Collection.  I used the "sponged" paper as well as one of the patterns that I tinted a shade of orange. I chose these papers because they complimented the photos without overpowering them.

Underwater Spooks...

Just in time for Nemo in 3-d...I finally scrapbooked some of the boys Nemo/Squirt pictures from Halloween several years ago.  I was excited to scrapbook these pictures for Nicholas (Gabriel's are to come soon).  He loved looking at them with me!  I used the new Moonlight Paper collection, Moonlight Colored Dimensional Elements, the new pigment ink pads to paint the Seaside Wooden Shapes (now retired)  in Halloween colors, Glamour Glitter Alphabet, Black and Grey Sparkle Assortment,  and our new Black Tulle Ribbon.  To see the layouts larger, click on the layouts.
