Creating your own patterns...

So here is a fun concept to try...and you will need at least 10 strips of scrap pattern paper to play! This layout and the card below were both created with the Triple Play promotional kit from National Stamping Month. The patterned pieces were all small and cut from a mini-album format. Each square of paper was approximately 4" x 4". I personally fell in love with the patterns and the designs and wanted to savor every scrap. So, I collected all of the scraps, and cut them into 4" strips. Some were wider than others. I ran each piece through my Xyron to create my own patterned design. In the layout below, this piece is on the left side but to the right of the photo. In the card it covers the entire card. BUT, in my second attempt, I made a discovery...and John, you will love this one! Instead of running each individual strip thru the Xyron, flip the base upside down and run that thru the Xyron, then simply add the strips to the sticky side and trim off any excess. Much easier and less goop.

Triple play layout---this time in Sunset

For some, this layout might have a little too much white space (or green space), but I love the simplicity of it! The layout was created with our exclusive Triple Play kit and the Sunset Palette which creates a softer side of the fall palette. For my pictures, the softer colors were the perfect compliment to my boys sweaters and the colors of the pumpkin patch! Love, love, love it! I cannot stop creating with these Triple plays! Tomorrow, I am off to create a layout for Nicholas as well! Love the look of this layout? You too can make it at my Triple Play event on October 1st at the Timberville Church of the Brethren! For details, just send me an e-mail at: inallsassiness@juno.com and I will share all the details with you!

Fab Fifteen...well, sort of!

...sort of...in that I altered the layout so technically, it is a Fab 12! Twelve pictures that is! I love this layout design as it allows for numerous pictures, as well as flexibility. In the original design, the large 8x8 picture of Gabe is actually four 4x4 pictures but that is the beauty of Close To My Heart's How-to-books...they are completely tweekable! This particular layout was created with our exclusive Triple Play kit and was created for my baby series that meets next week. The kit also has a paper palette in Hollyhock and Sunset so the layout could be altered for a baby girl or even neutral. And of course, it could be used for other things outside of babies! I just love the delicateness of the flowers and the shades of blue!
