The Ocean is Calling...

Tonight I want to share with you a layout that I created for my daughter Abby to capture the colors, and the beauty of the waters in Tahiti.  The papers, and mediums that I chose to use complimented the waters beautifully!

For the word ocean, I wanted to incorporate all of the shades of the ocean waters from our trip to Tahiti.  To do so, I used the thin cuts to cut each letter from different photographs we took while there.  I thought this was a great way to incorporate them.

The remainder of the title was cut from the textured Hope & Kindness cs.

The dot embellishments were created from punching holes in the glitter paper and then adding Liquid Glass to the dots.  When these are allowed to dry overnight, they develop an epoxy finish.

The textures of the Hope & Kindness cs, the glitter papers, and the Creative Basics striped paper blend so beautifully together.

Until I can get pictures of my finished layout with better lighting, here is how my personal layout turned out.  I am in love with the deep textures and mediums of the papers and mixed supplies.  The photos completely do not do them justice.

Supplies used:  (CC5223) Hope & Kindness cs, (Z4610) Pine Glitter Paper, (Z3234) 3" x 3" Flip Flaps, (Z4611) Seabrook Glitter Paper, (Z679) Liquid Glass, (X6046) French Vanilla cs, (A1259) Prairie Alphabet, (Z6540) Pine Exclusive Ink Pad, (Z4334) Slim Alphabet Thin Cuts, (Z5024) Red Line Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive Runner, (Z2060) Thin Foam Tape.  (retired) Wings Creative Basics Paper, Juniper Satin Ribbon.  Other supplies:  Hand held hole punch.  The current supplies can be ordered on my CTMH website here:  www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com.

For those who would like to order the kit, it is available in a limited number in my shop.  You can choose to have the word "ocean" cut from ocean photographs like mine, or the same paper as the "calls me" - do note, that if opting for the photographs, they will vary slightly by where the letters are cut on the water.  The kit includes (3) 3" Flip Flaps, the pre-cut titles, bulk ribbon and pieces to create the layout along with detailed instructions and a color photo.  Here is the link to order the kit.

Sassyfully yours,
Tonya

Day 11 - Go Farther Layout

Today's layout for my Sassy 25 Days of Christmas was created with much love for one of my loves.  My little guy has been polar bear passionate since he was 9 months old so when I get an opportunity to scrapbook this love, I jump at it!  The graphic can be as I designed it, or the white inset can be left out and he becomes a brown bear.  How fun right?

For a larger view of the layout, simply click on the layout and it will open in a new window.

The title circle was quite the challenge to create but I am over the moon excited with the end result.  I created shadows to go behind the various elements so that multiple colors could be seen in the graphic.  The end result was so much brighter and cheerful than just having all of the back color Cocoa.

The trees were cut using our new Close To My Heart Complete Creativity Cricut cartridge.  These were layered with Thin 3-d foam tape to create depth.  In addition, all of the photo mats are popped up on foam which really makes them stand out.  White brads and Cocoa ribbon were added to embellish the layout.

Day 10 - If you can dream it Layout

Tonight is day 10 of my Sassy 25 Days of Christmas and to celebrate, I went back to a much loved favorite the Creative Basics of the Wings collection.  This is from back when we had both a paper pack and then an exclusive card maker's pattern which in this case, I just loved.  Pairing New England Ivy and Cocoa with the intricate stripes and geometric just works great together!

So tonight's layout celebrates the now-retired paper with Cricut cuts from CTMH's Artistry and the title is from Girl "You've Got This".

Backtracking a little - Wings with Studio J

Better late than never?  Isn't that the way the saying goes?  I finally scrapbooked my pictures from my first Close To My Heart Convention in 2010!  I know, I am behind!  But keeping up with life, and with my classes, this was something that was just for me...so it was always on the back burner.  With Close To My Heart's A-W-E-S-O-M-E Digital Delights campaign, a 2 page layout is just $5.00 so I took advantage and spent a night scrapbooking just for me! Some I did quickly, others I put more time and detail work in, but all said in done...I finished all six layouts (with interruption) during three episodes of NCIS!  Very Sassy!

So, about the layouts...they were created with the Convention colors of Vineyard Berry, Black, Juniper and Sweet Leaf and the coordinating paper pack of Wings.  Love, love, love them!  They are filled with precious memories and cherished friends!

To see the layouts in a larger window, simply click on the layout itself!

Need some "me" time as well?  I encourage you to take a night of your favorite shows, curl up with your laptop and pictures and scrapbook away!  The Digital Delight special continues until March 15th so you still have lots of time!  Need help?  Just send me an e-mail at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.  Order your layouts by using one of the Whale of a Deal links on my website (www.ctmh.com/tonyasheridan) and you will be entered to earn the hostess rewards earned with that link!  So, what are you waiting for?  Create away!

30 days of Thanksgiving

As November begins, and with all that has happened over the last week with Sandy, I cannot help but count my many blessings, because even though I have had my own personal struggles, I have so many things to be thankful.  I have been inspired by my friend Lori who counts her blessings out loud each year and I thought I would take this opportunity to share them.

Day 1 - I am thankful for my faith, for my Lord, and His sacrifices for me.  I am thankful that I have His love, His care, and for His watchful eye upon me.

Day 2- I am thankful for my husband who has been supportive of me, my dreams, and of our family.  I am thankful that I married my very best friend and that my children have been blessed with the most amazing father.

Father's Day Accordian Project Class

Wanted to share a project class that I will be teaching later in early ...a Father's Day Accordian Book. Of course, the book can be used for other memories / occasions outside of Father's Day too! I love the color combination as it is perfect for a more masculine look, but of course, it works for any look. The class will be Thursday, June 2nd. All pieces are pre-cut, so this is a perfect project to order as a kit. Stay tuned...this will be an awesome class!!

A few more Wings Creative Basics Cards

Here are the last two cards that I created, and taught, in my April Card Club. I especially like the first one (Confidential design). This is a design that I have looked at many times before, but struggled to create a card with it that did the design justice. I was very happy with how it turned out! I used the circle punch that was used in the paper flowers to create the "tabs" and used the back side of the patterned paper. The create the sentiment piece, I simply arranged various thank you verses and sentiments on my 3" x 3" block and stamped them all together. You can use this technique with other phrases or images as well. It looks very impressive once stamped!

Card Design: Confidential from Wishes.

For this second card, I used the Scallop punch to create the backing/matting for the button embellishment and then the circle punch for the smaller Cocoa circle.

Card Design is Framework from Wishes.

Supplies used: Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Clear Button Assortment, Wings Creative Basics Paper Collection, Cocoa & New England Ivy Ink & Cardstocks. The stamp sets are the Card Chatter Sympathy and Card Chatter Thank You.

Wings Creative Basics Cards

The card design is Medallion from Wishes.

The card design is Simplicity from Wishes.

So, now that I have done a layout and altered art, it only seems natural to share the cards that I designed for my April Card Club. I frequently like to use some of the same techniques in card club that I use with my scrapbookers so I can illustrate how the techniques learned in one class can also be used with other projects. If interested in joining in on my April Card Club, or want to host your own Card Workshop, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@juno.com -- I would love to help you get started!

The flowers continue to "bloom"...

Remember the adorable flower that I used on the Relay Crop Layout earlier in the week? Here it is again but this time as a piece of altered art. I made these boxes for dinner favors for a dinner I was attending this evening. I had to laugh because you could tell who the paper crafters were...they were confiscating the flowers from their non-paper crafting friends and hoarding the flowers for future projects! Too funny! Because of the interest, and numerous requests I have received on how to make these flowers, I will be posting a step by step tutorial later this weekend. I think it is safe to say the little boxes were a hit!
