Let Your Heart Be Your Compass Layout

Today I want to share a layout that I created with the Hope & Kindness collection.  This was a featured collection a few years ago for National Scrapbooking Month and to be honest, I just cannot be done with it.  It is one of those collections that to me stands the test of time.  And look closely, the collection includes a textured cardstock that literally MAKES the layout Pop!

Speaking of that textured cs, it is important to note that I did not layer, nor waste, all that beautiful Peach cs.  Instead, I got creative and cut a 1/4" border on three sides and adhere that to the top of the Kraft textured cs.  It saved me so mcuh cs that I could incorporate the same cardstock for other pieces, and still have some to spare for a 5" x 7" card or two.  (stay tuned later to see these cards).

Note: to see the pictures from a larger viewpoint, click on the photos and they will open up with a large view in a new window.

For the flowers, I wanted a more uniform look so I cut the white edge, or rim, off of the single flower stickers.  That way, when I cut additional flowers from within the cluster stickers, all of the flowers looked the same.  I was really happy with how this look pulled together.  The power of a sticker right?

Here is the sticker sheet so you can understand my reference.

Supplies used:  Most of the supplies used are from the Hope & Kindness collection (the textured cardstock, the sticker sheet and the patterned paper) that is now retired.  Supplies that are still available are the adhesives:  (Z2060) Thin Foam Tape & our (Z7010) Adhesive Runner.  The design of the layout was based off of Pattern #15 in our new (9048) Make It From the Heart Vol. 6th that will be available to customers on September 1st.  These items can be ordered on my website at: www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com.

For those who would like this particular kit, if may be purchased in my shop by clicking here.

Hope & Kindness meets White Gloss Spray!

It's been awhile!! One of my personal goals for the spring is to get back into blogging here!  And, so I thought I would start with a card that I recently created using the (Z5010) White Gloss Spray, the (CC5223) Hope & Kindness textured cardstock (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! this paper!) I cannot get enough of it truthfully! AND, the (CC5226) Fancy Doilies Thin Cuts.

The White Gloss, & Gilt Spray are my new found loves - and when sprayed on this textured cardstock the wow factor magnifies!  It just pops beyond all popping and stands out quite elegantly as seen here.

A tip: to create the splatter around the 1/2 scalloped circle, create a mask by taking the same 1/2 circle and covering the holes with post-it notes.  Position the mask as desired and splatter around the mask.  Remove the mask, allow to dry for a few minutes before adhering the actual 1/2 scalloped circle.  The mask then can be used over and over again to create additional cards.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

There is something about a Christmas tree!! I adore them - decorated or not!  This layout perfectly captured the shades and feel that I wanted to achieve.  I used textured cardstock, with ribbons and small strips of additional cardstock and glitter paper that all pulled together beautifully.  I really like the addition of the partial circles as they lend space for a title and for journaling without over-powering the photos.

Detail photos:

The circle is stamped with Pine & Sage Exclusive Ink Pads.  The stamp is an oldie-but goodie that I have cherished using over the years.

Green Dots accent the curvature of the glitter circles!  Love these! They are monochromatic so there are several shade possibilities!  They also include heart and stars along with the circles so that adds even more possibilities!

The glitter pieces in the various shades, paired with the ribbon (Juniper satin - retired) and the textured cardstock and the patterned paper pull together beautifully!

Supplies used:  (Z4631) Green Dots, (CC5223) Hope & Kindness cardstock, (Z4610) Pine Glitter Paper, (Z4611) Seabrook Glitter Paper, (retired) Juniper Satin Ribbon, Creative Basics cs.
Current supplies can be found at: www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com.

This layout can be purchased in my shop at: www.inallsassinessdesigns.com.  There is a partnering product special available until 9:59am on December 2nd.

That stinkin' cute truck!

I just can't help but love this truck over and over again!  There are so many possibilities!!!

For this card, I stamped the truck with Black Exclusive Ink onto the Hope & Kindness textured Pine cs.

Once the ink was dry, I cut out the window and then traced the stamped image with the Silver Markers.

For the inside of the wheels, I use a hand held hole punch and punched two dots from Pine Glitter Paper and adhered with Mini-Glue Dots.

The tree was stamped with Pine Exclusive Ink onto the Hope & Kindness textured Sage cs.

The tree is popped up on one layer of Thin Foam Tape when adhered to the Sage cs.  When the truck is adhered, it is adhered on two layers of Thin Foam Tape.

I used one of my favorite retired stamp sets to stamp the sentiment in Pine Exclusive Ink.

Additionally, Silver Glitter Paper, Silver Thread and Silver Glitter Gems were added to the Sage cs panel.

The the truck panel is then adhered to the card base that is made up of Sage cs, Linen cs and Silver Glitter Paper.

This card has been added to my card buffet.

The supplies used are:  (X6045) Sage cs, (X5946) Linen cs, (CC5223) Hope & Kindness cs, (Z4191) Silver Glitter Paper, (Z4213) Silver Embellishing Thread, (Z4191) Silver Glitter Gems, (Z6540) Pine Exclusive Ink, (Z4189) Intense Black Exclusive Ink, (Z4655) Seasonal Haul Stamp & Thin Cuts, (Z4580) Quicksilver Silver Metallic Paint Markers, (X254) Value Cards and Envelopes, (Z341) Mini Glue Dots, (Z3372) Adhesive Runner, (Z2060) Thin Foam Tape.

The Ocean is Calling...

Tonight I want to share with you a layout that I created for my daughter Abby to capture the colors, and the beauty of the waters in Tahiti.  The papers, and mediums that I chose to use complimented the waters beautifully!

For the word ocean, I wanted to incorporate all of the shades of the ocean waters from our trip to Tahiti.  To do so, I used the thin cuts to cut each letter from different photographs we took while there.  I thought this was a great way to incorporate them.

The remainder of the title was cut from the textured Hope & Kindness cs.

The dot embellishments were created from punching holes in the glitter paper and then adding Liquid Glass to the dots.  When these are allowed to dry overnight, they develop an epoxy finish.

The textures of the Hope & Kindness cs, the glitter papers, and the Creative Basics striped paper blend so beautifully together.

Until I can get pictures of my finished layout with better lighting, here is how my personal layout turned out.  I am in love with the deep textures and mediums of the papers and mixed supplies.  The photos completely do not do them justice.

Supplies used:  (CC5223) Hope & Kindness cs, (Z4610) Pine Glitter Paper, (Z3234) 3" x 3" Flip Flaps, (Z4611) Seabrook Glitter Paper, (Z679) Liquid Glass, (X6046) French Vanilla cs, (A1259) Prairie Alphabet, (Z6540) Pine Exclusive Ink Pad, (Z4334) Slim Alphabet Thin Cuts, (Z5024) Red Line Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive Runner, (Z2060) Thin Foam Tape.  (retired) Wings Creative Basics Paper, Juniper Satin Ribbon.  Other supplies:  Hand held hole punch.  The current supplies can be ordered on my CTMH website here:  www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com.

For those who would like to order the kit, it is available in a limited number in my shop.  You can choose to have the word "ocean" cut from ocean photographs like mine, or the same paper as the "calls me" - do note, that if opting for the photographs, they will vary slightly by where the letters are cut on the water.  The kit includes (3) 3" Flip Flaps, the pre-cut titles, bulk ribbon and pieces to create the layout along with detailed instructions and a color photo.  Here is the link to order the kit.

Stamptacular with Artistic Flair #2

Today, I want to share another favorite that was introduced in May - the Palm Fronds.  This stamp is quite versatile and I just can't stop creating with it!  As in the previous day's featured item, this set also comes as a stand alone or with Thin Cuts.  I have used it both ways but truly love how the palms layer directly on the paper.  The stamp set (D2094) and the Stamp set with Thin Cuts (Z4447) can both be ordered by clicking here.

There are two pieces of art that I have created with this set that I want to share.  The first is a Slimline card.  For this card, I stamped directly on the paper and then also stamped on palms cut out from the Thin Cuts then build the card up in layers.  This card is available to order in the Stamptacular with Artistic Flair section of my website.  It is available in sets of 2. Click here to add this to your creative collection.

The second piece of art that I created is a layout where I stamped, and layered, the palms directly onto the paper itself.  The layout is apart of my "How Did They Do That Series" as it was inspired by a layout that the art department created for our current Idea Book.  Additionally, I was inspired by a layout that a sister-maker Erin Jacobson created and shared.  I am so in love with how this layout turned out!  This layout is apart of my Joys of the Summer virtual event.  Details can be found by clicking here.

And here is my layout with my pictures and journaling added.  To see a larger photo of the layout, click on the picture and it will open in a new window.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As we enter the month of June, Close to My Heart also begins the month-long event of Stamptacular!!  What does this mean?  A month of deep savings on our signature acrylic stamps and even some stamps and thin cut paired sets!  There are even FIVE exclusive stamps that are just available during this sale.  You can see all that there is offer by clicking here.

In addition to the awesome sales that the company is offering, I will also be sharing artwork all month featuring some of the stamps that are on sale!  I have created a special section in my shop (www.inallsassiness.com) where the featured artwork from the Stamptacular with an Artistic Flair can be ordered.  Many of these will be limited in quantity, so if you love them, and want to order them, don't delay.  I have set this option up so that you can order the art that speaks to you all month long, and then I will ship them out (or have available for pick up) the first week in July - with only one shipping fee.  Bonus right??  Because of such, the shipment option has been set to "pick up".  For those needing shipping, I will invoice you the shipping charges when I mail out your boxes.

Tonya
