This is last of my layouts from Sioux Falls.  The layout is very simple as I chose not to add much in the means of embellishments to have the focus again be on the beautiful photographs.  I have to admit, that I do love how Studio J showcases large photos: they are just beautiful!

30 Studio J's in 30 days - day 12

As I continue to share the layouts I created of my husband's parent's trip to Sioux Falls, this layout was a "must show".  I love the layout and have used it several times for other memories.  Here one of the Studio-J abled task I did was to merge two photo wells into one to feature a larger photo (see the tower in the bottom right corner of the right page.  This is actually two wells.  I loaded the identical picture into each well and then enlarged both to 304%.  The top picture I forced up and the bottom picture I aligned with the bottom portion of the second picture so it created the illusion of being just one picture.  I also used my friend John's favorite journaling technique when traveling and used the photo of the sign as the layout's journaling!  Why re-invent the wheel right?  Love, love, love it!

Here is the second layout of four from the Sioux Falls.  For this layout, I choose simplicity as the best route.  I am so in love with the It's Your Guy Thing (long time retired) paper collection with these photographs.  The rustic Barn Red color just makes and rocks POP!  Because this is studio scrapbooking verses traditional scrapbook, lighter colors can also play a larger part in your artwork and as you can see, I took advantage of this feature with my title.  A dark title would have been difficult to read but by changing the font to Desert Sand you can read it so much nicer.  I also chose to add 1/16" photo mats with Desert Sand which added just enough lightness to the layout.

30 Studio J's in 30 days - day 10

A few hours late for yesterday's post...my apologies.  I am at a weekend crop and wasn't able to get to my power cord last night.  lol.  For layout #10, I used a technique that I absolutely love. Everyone always says I am crazy, or have too much time on my hands (which for those who know me, know that I my life is the EXACT opposite of that), but the truth of the matter, is that I find it relaxing.  I am referring to the letters that make up the title "Sioux Falls"--these letters are My Stickease and individually placed, resized, rotated and moved to read along the curve of the half circle.  It is strategic, yes because if you don't use the back and front buttons just right you will move the X instead of the S etc. ...but like I said, I love it.  I find it to be a challenge that I enjoy.

 

For this layout, I also added a second ribbon to give the layout a more complete look.  I didn't want to much detail in the manner of embellishments as the photographs themselves have many lines and angles and I felt that extra embellishments would take away from those.
