Space Disney layout

Disney and Star Wars lovers be on alert!  You are going to fall in love with this beautiful layout designed by the very talented, master of Disney artwork, Ginni Candelaria!  I tweaked the layout just a little with colors to work better with my pictures and will be teaching it locally in Broadway/Timberville on Friday, May 25th from 5:30 - 6:30PM at the Timberville Church of the Brethren.   You can join me in class, or purchase the kit and create it on your own.  The kit is $20 and includes Cricut pre-cut pieces, pre-cut elements (with the exception of the mats in case you want to alter the sizes), a pack of Stargazer dots and a pack of Stargazer elements.  You may register for the class, or order a kit in my In All Sassiness Shop.  Make sure to select "pickup" if you are local to avoid being charged for shipping.

I LOVE the elements and embellishments in orbit around Mickey's ears!  How Star Wars-ly sassy!

The Star Wars lover in me just can't get enough of this Stargazer paper suite!  Why, oh why, did I have to wait until it retired to fall in love with it???  (Well, crazy, busy life could explain that!)  Anyway, stay tuned for even more fun Star Wars creations from this blogger!

Hey there, Pumpkin - passion for Moonlight continues!

Croptopia Getaways create and take 2:  "Hey there, pumpkin"

note: click photo to see a larger image

cutting guides for the pieces that need to be cut:

Cutting instructions:
Cut full sheet of Sweet Leaf cs into:  (four) 4” x 6” mats and (three) 3” x 4” mats.
Cut full sheet of Goldrush cs into two 4 ¾” x 10 ½” pieces.

Use patterned paper for both left and right bases.  On bases, and from top to bottom, with the pieces flush with the inside edge, adhere the following pieces:
1. Adhere the Slate cs 4” x 8 ¾” piece 1 ¼” from the top edge of the base.
2. Directly below, adhere the 1” x 11” black cs strip.
3. Directly below, adhere the 4 ¾” x 10 ½” Goldrush cs strip.

To create the left side:
1. Adhere a 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf mat in the upper right corner of the Slate cs.  This is approx. ¼” down from the upper edge of the Slate and approx. ¼” from the right edge of the base.
2. Directly below the above mat, adhere the 3” x 4” Sweet Leaf cs mat.  This is also approx. ¼” up from the bottom edge of the Goldrush cs.
3. To the left of the above piece, and in line with the bottom of the same piece, adhere a vertical 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf cs mat.
4. In the left corner of the above photo mat, adhere chipboard pumpkins with foam tape.
5. Directly below the black strip, and to the left of the 4” x 6” Sweet Leaf mat, add Black dots.
6. Adhere the black title over the Sweet Leaf base.  Attach title with 3-d foam tape.  This over laps the top right photo as desired.

To create the right side:
1. Center, and align Sweet Leaf cs mats within the Slate and Goldrush pieces.  The two 3” x 4” mats are at the top and horizontal and the two 4”x 6” mats are on the bottom and are vertical.
2. Add a cluster of Black Dots in the lower right corner as desired.
3. Add a horizontal row of three Black dots along the top of the leftward 3” x 4” photo mat.
4. Adhere Slate 3/8” x 2 ¼” strip to the black strip.  This is flush with the left edge of the Sweet Leaf mat and centered within the black.
5. In the upper right corner of the base, adhere two chipboard pennants as desired.

A blast from the past...Moonlight past!

So, this weekend, we are taking a look back to a favorite Halloween/fall themed paper suite called Moonlight.  I loved the softer, more muted colors in this pack.  So much, that I kept a stocked piled inventory for a special occasion, and Croptopia's Fall getaway was just that occasion!  For this crop, I created two layouts that the scrappers got to choose from for their Create and Takes.  For those at the crop, you are welcome to take these instructions and create your own layouts.

Cutting guides for the pieces in your kit that are not pre-cut.

Note: your Smokey Plum piece/pieces may differ from this piece, but you can still fit the needed cuts.

Cutting instructions:
Cut 1” x 12” black cs strip into four ¼” x 12” strips.
Cut 1” x 12” Charcoal cs strip into two ½” x 11 ½” pieces.
Cut Goldrush cs into two 3” x 12” strips.
Smokey Plum cut into (4) 3 ¼” ” x 4 1/4” mats; use scrap for chipboard mat if desired.
Cut the full Charcoal cs 12” x 12” into the following:  ½” x 12”, ½” x 12”, 5 ¼” x 12”, 5 ¼” x 12”

Use patterned paper for both left and right bases.  On bases, and from top to bottom, adhere the following pieces:
1. Adhere ¼” x 12” black strip 1 ¾” from the top edge of the base.
2. Adhere ½” x 12” Charcoal cs strip (light side up).
3. Adhere 5 ¼” x 12” Charcoal cs strip (dark side up).
4. Adhere 3” x 12” of Goldrush cs (dark side up).
5. Adhere ½” x 11 1/2”
6. Adhere ¼” x 12” black strip on lower edge of Goldrush cs.

To create the left page:
1. Adhere black photo 4 ¼” x 6 ¼” mat approximately 4 ½” from the upper edge base.
2. At an angle, then adhere the 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” Smokey Plum mats.  Note these are raised up on 30d foam tape.
3. On the left Smokey Plum mat, adhere chipboard photo corners over photo and in the lower left corner adhere chipboard cat with foam tape.
4. Adhere choice of chipboard sentiments onto Smokey Plum scrap paper.  Trim so that a border is visible.  Adhere as desired under photos.
5. Add title and black dot embellishments as desired.

To create the right page:
1. Repeat photo mat placement as on the left page.
2. Adhere accent “eek” in the right corner overlapping the black strip.  Adhere black dots to the left and right the chipboard.
3. Adhere a Sweet Leaf 3” x 4” piece of cs for journaling into the left Smokey Plum photo mat.
4. Adhere the chipboard Smokey Plum corners over the right Smokey Plum photo mat.

Love Your Selfie!

Close To My Heart has a colorful Picture My Life collection called Love Your Selfie!  The color combination, and the bold patterns have enticed me from it's introduction, and I have couldn't resist the urge to create with them anymore. Typically, the Picture My Life cards are incorporated in pocket style scrapbooking: they include twenty 4" x 6" and thirty-six 3" x 4" cards.  The cards have the same design on both side: one side features the design vertically and the other side features the same design horizontally.   As with our other scrapbooking products, these are acid-free, lignin-free and buffered.   Typically, the cards are incorporated in pocket style scrapbooking, but you know me...I always have to look outside the box when creating!

I took one complete set of the Picture My Life Cards, and created five 2 page layouts.  I then created 9 handmade cards.  After these projects, this left a total of 6 cards left for additional journaling, lunch box notes etc.  I was pretty impressed with myself and my creation!

This is a sampling of the Love Your Selfie (Z3194) cards that I created with.  They can be purchased on my website by clicking here.

Layout one:  Love Life

Layout two:  Dream Big

Layout three:  Smile

Layout four: Laugh Out Loud

Layout Five:  Believe In Your Selfie

Card Collection

I will be teaching this Love Your Selfie Workshop on Saturday, February 4th from 1-4PM at the Timberville Church of the Brethren.  The class is $50 for all 5 layouts, and you will receive the 9 bonus cards as well as 6 extra PML cards that can be used for additional projects.  OR, if you prefer, you may pick and choose the layouts that fit your needs the most for $10 each.  To register, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.

If you are unable to attend the class, both would like to purchase the class kits, you may do so by clicking here and purchasing in my shop.  If you would like to purchase just the digital layout files, and purchase the supplies yourself, that is also an option.  You may also do so in my In All Sassiness Shop.

Introducing our new Thin Cuts!

Close To My Heart is introducing a new line of Thin Cuts today!  These are independent of our stamp sets and have so many paper crafting possibilities!  Heart and star shapes and words that you will use over and over, these are a must have, and will be ones you go back to time and time again!

You can see all of our new Thin Cut selections here on my website.

Use these thin metal dies to quickly and easily cut shapes for embellishing your scrapbook pages and cards. Thin Cuts are packaged on their own magnetic sheet and work well with most die-cutting machines.

One of my favorite features is that the words have tiny little holes in the thin cut that a piercing tool can be inserted in to pop the cut easily off the die without damage!  How cool is that?  And a note from our experience, many of my team members played with the Thin Cuts all weekend, and found that our Bonding Memories Glue Pen is the absolute perfect adhesive to adhere these die cuts to your layouts and projects.

The left side of this layout is featured in our new Annual Inspirations Idea Book (with one color tweak) and then I designed (with the help of my ever so wonderful team) a companion right page.  It was such a joy to create!  You can see more details of the layout by clicking on the images - they will open up larger in a new window.  For those who would like to create this layout, I will be teaching a class for it  at my August Olympic Crop on August 19-21st at the Harrisonburg Hotel or you can purchase the kit in my shop here.  The class is $15.00 or $20.00 with the addition of a Bonding Memories Glue Pen.

Smiling for pineapples

Get your sparkle on with this tropical summer layout!  The pineapple isn't just for the islander in you, but in Virginia, it is also the symbol of hospitality.  This layout was created with the Calypso paper collection which is here just for the summer.  I love the featured shades of Pixie, Canary and Pear and how they compliment one another.  The green Shimmer Trim and silver sequins add just the right amount of shimmer and fun!

Hello Sunshine!

Warm tones, vibrant gold and metallic accents pair together to create this colorful layout. The layout was created with Florence, one of CTMH's newest paper collections. I love the bold, yet warm and vibrant, colors in this paper! They blend beautifully and would compliment fall photos, family pictures, or so much more. My favorite element -- hands down the Gold Overlays! I simply cannot get enough of these cards-they truly add to any layout or project that they are included on!

Love My Buckeyes!

Even if their Scarlet and Grey were renamed Ruby and Porpoise!!  The Columbus Dispatch ran an article that the school had to legally change their school colors as an April Fools Joke.  My 11 year old son thought this was the most hilarious joke ever!  He wanted to call everyone he knew and try to fool them.  Granted most of our friends aren't as devoted Buckeyes as we are, are aren't Buckeyes at all, so the joke wasn't quite as funny!  When I created this layout, I couldn't help but laugh because I used "Ruby" for my red.

This layout was actually designed by a very talented artist, Chris Lothian.  I took her layout design, tweaked it into my beloved Scarlet (Ruby) and Grey (Slate), added Black for accents, and embellished to fit my taste.  LOVING the way that it turned out is an understatement!  As the layout came together, I couldn't help but think how well the layout would actually work for a Disney themed layout.  I do believe I will make a second without the "Ohio" additions and Disney-fied it!  Can't you just see Mickey and Minnie on this layout??

I used this as a make and take at my last weekend crop.  Many of the ladies, and gentleman then tweaked the layout to fit their needs!  It is so much fun to inspire!

My version, without the Ohio Stamp (M1101), can be ordered here on my blog.  The cost is: $20.00.
The kit includes:  2 - sheets of (1385) White Daisy Cardstock, 1 - sheet of  Black (Z3128 from Basic Paper Fundamentals), Ruby (Z3126 from Enchantment Paper Fundamentals) and Slate(Z3128 from Basic Paper Fundamentals) Paper Fundamentals Paper, bulk Black Bows from the Fundamental Assortment (Z3104), bulk Silver Sequins (Z2013), bulk Red Enamels (Z3090), bulk Basic Fundamental Stickers(Z3166), (a complete package of the Picture My Life Gold and Silver Overlays (Z3144).

Quantities of this kit are limited.  To purchase one, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.  Shipping, if applicable, is $8.00.

The little hippo that is tu tu cute!

Have you ever seen a stamp and it was instant love?  That is so how I felt when I first saw the little hippo in Close To My Heart's new stamp set Safari Ballet!  To give equal credit, the little giraffe is cute too but the hippo has stolen my heart!  So completely.  This card is sure to be the first of many cards and artwork that I create with this stamp set and I couldn't wait to share it with you!  The card is created with the Georgie Picture My Life cards and dimensional element printed stars that are included in the Georgie Compliments.  And what would be a card without all of the embellishing? The card was embellished with White Shimmer Trim, Pixie Baker's Twine (note the cute knots at the ends) and Silver Sequins...the perfect little finishing touches to add to the overall cuteness!  The hippo ballerina was colored with the Twin Touch Shin Han markers in the shades of Tender Pink and Warm Grey 4.  To create the rosy cheeks, the cheeks were first colored with Tender Pink and then colored over with Warm Grey.  She was then cut out and adhered to the card with 3-d foam tape.  The finished size is:  4 1/4 x 5 1/2".

For those who would like to create this card, we will be creating this card at my October Card Club that meets on Monday, October 5th at 6PM.  The class will be held at the Hill's in Broadway.  For directions, or to register, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.  Class cost is:  $10.00.

Sangria Friendship Cards

The un-seasonally early changing, and falling, of the leaves has inspired me to create these cards with Close To My Heart's  new Sangria paper collection.  I love how it captures the dark, rich colors of the autumn in the pack!  These are two of the cards we created at my BINGO event this afternoon. They are designed by Close To My Heart, are simple to create, and full of rich colors.  The stamping was done with Pomegranate (new), Eggplant (new) and Sorbet Exclusive inks with the Thousand Thanks stamp set.  This is a absolutely fantastic stamp set:  the sentiment pairings are endless for friendship and thank you cards. Two new embellishments were used to add the finishing touches - a Gold Foil Tape and the Enamel Pink Gems - adding a little bit of elegance mixed with a little bit of fun!

To see a larger of the cards, click the image below and it will open in a new window.

Kits of these cards are available on the In All Sassiness Class Kit page here on my blog.  With the kit, you will be able to create 10 cards - 5 each of both designs.  The kits include a complete roll of Gold Foil Tape and of the Enamel Pink Gems, 10 cards and bases, and all of the needed pre-cut pieces to create the cards.  You may request the kits to include pre-stamped sentiments or blank sentiment pieces.  The cost of the card kit is:  $16.00.  If you would like to add the Thousand Thanks Stamp Set, the cost would be $32.00 - a savings of $6.00.  Shipping is $5.00 if applicable and can be combined with other In All Sassiness Class Kits to save of shipping cost.

Calling all Buckeyes!~

Scrapbook Expo will be in Akron, Ohio this weekend and I will teaching a pocket scrapbooking class!  There are still spaces available!  This is a jam-packed, dynamite class, if I do say so myself, and one that will leave you wanting more!  You can register right at the Expo or at: www.scrapbookexpo.com.  And, make sure you stop by the Close To My Heart booth and say hello!

In this class, you will learn how to intertwine Picture My Life cards (aka pocket cards) into your traditional layouts, use them with pocket style pages, create greeting cards and so much more!  Feel free to bring your camera to take snapshots of the artwork that I have to share!  In addition, you will have a chance to do a little ala' carte choosing of additional styles of page protectors and bonus PML cards for your own projects!  Such fun!
