Day 20 - Sassy 25 Days of Christmas Strengthening Moments Layout

Soft watercolors define this layout that was created with the Boutique paper suite.  The photo does not show the beautiful detail or do the layout justice, so you will just have to trust me on this one.  The title and sentiment speak volumes and really pull the focal point to the photos.

For a larger view of the layout, click on the layout and it will open at a larger size in a new window.

This dainty flourish is a Cricut image that was purchased on Cricut.com.

The "grow through what you go through" (from the Boutique Scrapbooking Stamp set that is now retired) sentiment is stamped in Charcoal ink on the chipboard accent.

The "strengthening" is cut out with the Cricut in Charcoal cs and adhered flat where the word "moments" is a chipboard piece that is also adhered flat.

The embellishment clusters are made up of stickers, chipboard pieces and Silver Glitter Gems.  Some are adhered flat and others with Thin 3-d Foam tape for depth and variation.

Not shown:  there are two 3" x 4" Flip Flaps and one 3" x 3" Flips included for the corresponding photos - they just don't photograph well.

Supplies used:  (X5946) Linen cs, (X5953) Charcoal cs, (X5989) Sugar Plum cs, (Z2831) Charcoal Exclusive Ink, (Z4191) Silver Glitter Gems, (Z3341) Thin 3-d Foam Dots, (Z2060) Thin 3-d Foam Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive runner .(retired) Boutique paper suite and compliments, Boutique Scrapbooking Stamp Set.  Current product can be ordered on my Close To My Heart website by clicking here.

The layout kit includes the pre-cut and pre-stamped pieces needed as well as all bases and mats, two 3" x 4" Flip Flaps, one 3" x 3" Flip Flap, bulk embellishments, 2 page protectors, detailed instructions and a color photo to help  you create the layout.

Today's product special features the Travel Carry All case.  This case is perfect for carrying your layouts and papers safely to and from your crops and workshops.  Two stack nicely on our Trolley so of course this special is repeatable.  With nothing additional for shipping or tax, your savings are huge!!!  $55 off!

Both of these specials are available in my In All Sassiness Designs Shop until midnight on December 30th, 2019.  You can order them by clicking here.

Day 17 - You're One of a Kind Layout

Tonight's layout will have you seeing stars - stars of cuteness that is!  This layout was created for an Operation Smile fundraiser by Jennifer Smith.  I am in love with the Glacier watercolor paper!  It just pull the layout together and completes it!  My heart is thinking this would be a great baby layout, but also to celebrate who you find amazing in your life!

To see a larger view of this layout, simply click the picture and it will open in a larger window.

All of the pieces are ink distressed with Charcoal ink which softens the look of the layout.  In addition, the corners are all splattered with a combination of the Clear Shimmer Brush and the watercolor paints.  Of course, both of these steps are optional to your style and taste.

Star banner detail - note that the banner itself if adhered flat; the second layer of stars is adhered with Thin 3-d foam tape; the left white star is adhered flat and the right white star is wrapped with Silver Thread then adhered with Thin 3-d foam tape.  The dimension adds a fun twist to the banner and the stars.

For the optional stitching on the stars and around the border of the bases, either hand stitch, or hand doodle, with a journaling pen, or use a favorite border stamp set.  Here, the border was stamped with Charcoal exclusive ink.

Supplies used:  (X5953) Charcoal cs, (X5958) Peacock cs, (X5978) Glacier cs, (1385) White Daisy cs, (Z3293) Clear Shimmer Brush, (Z3132) Watercolors, (Z4191) Silver Glitter Gems, (Z3341) Thin 3-d Foam Dots, (Z2060) Thin 3-d Foam Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive runner and (Z2831) Charcoal Exclusive Ink Pad (retired) Boutique paper suite.  You can purchase any of the current supplies on my CTMH website by clicking here.

Day 16 - Boutique - Capture the Details Layout

Check back tomorrow for more details on this layout, but for tonight, I wanted to make sure I posted the special.

To see more of the details of this layout, click on the picture and it will open in a larger window.

Hello friends! Your favorite late night owl here posting tonight's special! And it is a definite keeper!! My heart immediately thought of Tracy Friday Ciuffo with this one! While the colors are not bumblebee yellow, they are yellow indeed! And you know the Buckeye in me struggles to use yellows and blues together...but in this case with the addition of that Charcoal I am just in love! This layout design was apart of the Operation Smile set that I purchased from the ever-so-talented Jennifer Smith. She did a fabulous job with this one. A word of warning - the pieces are intricate but the results are magnificent! Did I mention I was head over heels with this one?

Title details - two layers with Thin 3-d foam tape.

Day 15 - Hello Beautiful Boutique

I am doing a little catch up today so I am posting a few "days" today.  This layout was designed by Jennifer Smith for an Operation Smile fundraiser and I do believe was my favorite of the album.  I love the wintery colors and snowflakes mixed with the wintery flowers - combined they make for a beautiful layout!

The snowflakes were cut out on the Cricut and both sides of colors were used to show more of the colors.  Each snowflake, piece of cardstock, and patterned paper, were lightly ink distressed with Charcoal ink.  Some are adhered flat, and others with Thin 3-d Foam tape to give more depth.  The title "Beautiful" is a piece of chipboard, however I opted to use Thin 3-d Foam tape cut in half width wise to pop the title up - I loved the difference a little foam tape will make!

The journaling lines are stamped with a border stamp but also could be hand drawn -- I just don't have that stable of a hand.  For the kits, these are pre-stamped.  If you prefer to not have the lines, or hand journal them, simply flip the base over and use the blank side.

The splatter effect was created by using a Clear Shimmer Brush and the grey palette of the watercolors.  To create it, pick up some of the watercolors on the brush and gently tap on your finger.  Make sure to cover areas that you don't want to be splatter!  lol - yes, I learned this from experience!

The foam arrow stickers add a cute little accent to the layout.  The Ballerina ones are used on the left page as "bullet points" and the blue ones were used on the pennant as accents.

Supplies:  (X5989) Sugarplum cs, (Z3293) Clear Shimmer Brush, (Z3132) Watercolors (1385), (Z4234) Boutique Puffy Stickers, White Daisy cs, (X5953) Charcoal cs, (X5978) Glacier cs,  (Z2831) Charcoal Exclusive Ink Pad, (Z3341) Thin 3-d Foam Dots, (Z2060) Thin 3-d Foam Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive runner.   (retired) Sugarplum Glitter Gems, Boutique Paper Suite.  All of the current items may be purchased on my Close To My Heart website.

This kit is available at a discounted price of $12 until midnight on December 20th. After that, the cost will return to the regular price of $15.  The kit includes all of the pre-cut pieces (yes, including ALL those snowflakes!), the papers, and bulk embellishments to complete the layout.  In addition, detailed instructions and a color photo are also included.  The journaling lines are pre-stamped on one side of the White Daisy cs for you.  Should you prefer not to use these, just flip the base to the other, blank, side.

Today's product special is on our Exclusive Ink Pads.  You may purchase as many of these as you desire for $5 each.  With nothing additional for shipping or tax, that is a savings of $6.31 per ink pad!  To see all of our colors, click here.  You may repeat as many times as desired.

To take advantage of either of these specials, visit my In All Sassiness Designs Shop by clicking here before midnight on December 20th.

Day 14 - Boutique Sweet Layout

Today's layout for day 14 of my Sassy 25 Days of Christmas was created with the Boutique collection.  The layout was originally designed by Jennifer Smith as an Operation Smile fundraiser.  I made a few minor tweaks to fit my needs and color preferences but the design is hers.

To see a larger view of the layout, simply click on the photo and it will open with a larger view in a new window.

The flowers are all Cricut cut, and I love the combination of the Sugar Plum and Ballerina cs alternated. Each flower has one Sugar Plum piece and one Ballerina piece and some are on the dark side of the color while others are on the light side of the color.  There is Thin 3-d foam tape in between the layers of the flowers to create depth and each flower is ink distressed with the Charcoal exclusive ink pad.

Besides the flowers, all of the other pieces are also ink distressed with the Charcoal ink.

Supplies:  (X5989) Sugarplum cs, (X6036) Ballerina cs, (1385) White Daisy cs, (X5953) Charcoal cs, (X5978) Glacier cs,  (Z2831) Charcoal Exclusive Ink Pad, (Z3341) Thin 3-d Foam Dots, (Z2060) Thin 3-d Foam Tape, (Z3372) Adhesive runner.   (retired) Sugarplum Glitter Gems, Boutique Paper Suite.  All of the current items may be purchased on my Close To My Heart website.

This kit is available at a discounted price of $10 until midnight on December 20th. After that, the cost will return to the regular price of $12.  The kit includes all of the pre-cut pieces (yes, including ALL those flowers!), the papers, and bulk embellishments to complete the layout.  In addition, detailed instructions and a color photo are also included.

Today's product special is on the Value Pack of Sponge Daubers.  You may purchase this 12 pack for a discounted price of $15 which is over a $7 savings!  You may repeat as many times as desired.

To take advantage of either of these specials, visit my In All Sassiness Designs Shop by clicking here before midnight on December 20th.

Game changer...shimmer watercolor splatter painting!

Thanks to the fabulous Jennifer Smith, a sister Canadian consultant, I have discovered a new, equalling as fabulous technique- splatter painting with a Shimmer Brush and watercolors!  What? right?  Jennifer designed a beautiful album for Operation Smile which I am currently creating and will be teaching as well as offering as kits and in her album she taught me this new technique!  LOVE IT!

So what is this technique?  Using a Clear Shimmer Brush,  pick up a color in the watercolors (for my layout I used a dark grey) with the brush tip.  Gentle tap the shimmer brush in the designated area with your finger and walah! You have a shimmery splattered texture.  In the process of creating my background, I also learned that I could mix a little in a bowl for a lighter, less dramatic look.  I mixed the two on my layout so you will note that some of the splatter is darker and more vibrant than others.

My tip...if you decide you want to try this...do your splattering BEFORE you create the layout!  lol.  I did not.  I wasn't sure I would like it.  Then once I decided to try it I had to worry about splattering where I didn't want to.  My solution was to cover the layout with wax paper then splatter.

So, I have shown you the technique, I want to share the layout.  This is one of my favorites that I have created in a very long time.  I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that my photos are so precious to me!

Here is my version of the layout.  To see it in a larger view, simply click on the photo and it will open in a larger window.  If you note the 4" x 4" photo - this is the top of a flip flap.

Here you can see the 4" x 4" flip flap open.

You can create this layout with me at Scrap Pink in two weeks or at my Fall Harvest Crop the first weekend on October.  It is also available to purchase in my In All Sassiness Designs Shop.
