Convention Album Contest Entry #4 - the joys and beauties of panoromic photographs

It has been awhile since I shared a piece of completed artwork so I thought tonight I would share the 4th layout that I entered in Close To My Heart's album contest at our National Convention this year.  I was delighted in how well the layout, and Studio J enabled, me to showcase my panoramic photographs.

To create the layout, I used the No Limits Blank page and the Dakota paper collection.  I added the small pictures in the upper and lower borders and then added the 6" x 12" panoramic photographs and flip flaps.  The flip flaps enabled me to add more in depth journaling to tell our story.  Once I had the layout, and the inserts for the Flip Flaps, printed I added Black Hemp and Artisan Designer Brads to add some 3-d dimension.

Did you know that there is an express option to Studio J?

Close To My Heart has numerous Express Collections available just for our conveniences!  And ease.  The layouts are all generated around a basic idea and have detail work already included.  All you have to do is load your photos, journaling and title and you are done.  Colors not exactly right for your photos?  No problem, you can also make basic color changes to work best for you.  Love, love, love them!  This first layout of Nicholas playing baseball in an Express Collection layout.  Then I took the color palette and created the second layout with traditional Studio J.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 19

Day 19 – I am thankful for my husband’s parents.  They are wonderful, attentive grandparents to my children, and my children adore them.  They are Buckeyes at heart and by far, the biggest Buckeye fans I know (Go Bucks!).  I am blessed to be a part of their family.

Dakota in a non-traditional light

Dakota is one of my favorite new fall paper collections, but I am really not the western-kind-of-a-girl. So I wanted to incorporate the paper packs with my pictures which were not exactly western in theme.  I found these pictures from Nicholas' first haircut and found that they worked perfectly with the Dakota papers.  I chose to use a small flip flap (also new!) to seal his hair locks into the layout.  This protects them from being lost of damaged.  The flip flap is not used traditionally, but instead sealed right to the page itself: basically serving as a plastic pocket.

Other materials used:

D1301 Classmate Alphabet Stamp Set
Z1695 Urban Felt Alphabet
Z2192 Pacifica Exclusive Ink Pad
Imagine How-To-Book (retired).  The layout design is:  Dynamic Duo (p.48)
