The Dark Side - interactive layout

Love flip flaps do you?  I absolutely do with all my creative heart!  I love how they add excitement to any layout and how they enable me to add more photos to a layout without adding more pages.

In celebration of "May the Fourth Be With You" day, I created a Star Wars layout to teach for a class.  This layout was designed in shades of Black, White and Greys (Pewter) which worked great with me Stormtrooper photos!  Take away the title and this layout has so many possibilities for other occasions - dance, prom, sports, etc. and the neutral colors would also work great to pull in another color that would most certainly pop!

If you missed the class but love the layout, the layout is available in kit form in my In All Sassiness Designs shop.  The kit includes all needed papers to create the layout, pre-cut stars, 4 shaker card elements, (4) 3" x 4" flip flaps, (1) 5" x 7" flip flap, bulk Silver Loose Sequins and Shimmer Trim, a pack of 3-d Thin Foam, detailed instructions and a color photo to assist in creating the layout.  The kit cost is $22.00 and shipping, if needed, may be combined with other kits in my shop.

How Did They Do That?

Several times a year, I select, or ask my scrapbookers to select, a layout from the current Idea Book and then turn it into a class.  For the Seasonal Expression 1 2019 Idea Book we selected the neutral layout on page 91.  It is important to note that the layout was originally designed as a 6" x 8" so the first step was altering it to a 12" x 12" format.  Here is the original:

Love Your Selfie!

Close To My Heart has a colorful Picture My Life collection called Love Your Selfie!  The color combination, and the bold patterns have enticed me from it's introduction, and I have couldn't resist the urge to create with them anymore. Typically, the Picture My Life cards are incorporated in pocket style scrapbooking: they include twenty 4" x 6" and thirty-six 3" x 4" cards.  The cards have the same design on both side: one side features the design vertically and the other side features the same design horizontally.   As with our other scrapbooking products, these are acid-free, lignin-free and buffered.   Typically, the cards are incorporated in pocket style scrapbooking, but you know me...I always have to look outside the box when creating!

I took one complete set of the Picture My Life Cards, and created five 2 page layouts.  I then created 9 handmade cards.  After these projects, this left a total of 6 cards left for additional journaling, lunch box notes etc.  I was pretty impressed with myself and my creation!

Card Collection

I will be teaching this Love Your Selfie Workshop on Saturday, February 4th from 1-4PM at the Timberville Church of the Brethren.  The class is $50 for all 5 layouts, and you will receive the 9 bonus cards as well as 6 extra PML cards that can be used for additional projects.  OR, if you prefer, you may pick and choose the layouts that fit your needs the most for $10 each.  To register, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.
