Gerber Daisy accented Pumpkin

Who doesn't love pumpkins during the fall??  If my family would allow them, I would be happy having pumpkins out all year long!  It is hard to put into words - there is just something about them that I just adore.  When I was in the hospital, I was not allowed to have any live "plants" in my room, and while I was okay without flowers, having to go through the fall season without pumpkins made my heart sad!  My favorites are the Cinderella style and the white pumpkins so when I found this beautiful white pumpkin, I couldn't wait to "accent" it with my favorite embellishments!

All that being said, I also adore Gerber Daisies and thought these two paired quite nicely together!  I used our Flower Market Cricut Collection to cut the Daisies and layered them alternating the sides of the cardstock - one with the darker side and then the next one with the lighter side.  Such a classic pairing in my mind!

I used the Clear Shimmer Brush, the Rose Gold Sequins and the Diamond Stickles to add glitter and sparkle and then cut and stamped a few tags for the finishing touch.

I invite you to watch this video to see how I created the pumpkin step-by-step:  https://youtu.be/0BbH1CpROIg

The Autumn Blessings Stamp set was used to create the tags.  This is available as a stand alone
stamp set or as a Stamp Set/Thin Cut Combo.

Shaker Element Banners

So, I have a confession to make. I am passionately obsessed about our shaker elements!  And not just a little obsessed...we are talking majorly obsessed!  I love to think out-of-the-box and see what I can do with them.  Of course, they are designed for our cards, but have found that I love incorporate them in my scrapbooking layouts, and most recently, I have used them to create both ornaments and banners.

When Close To My Heart first introduced the Summer Vibes collection, the little pink flamingo found in the Acrylic Shapes took my heart! I knew right away that I wanted to use this for home decor in my daughter's room.  She claims that flamingos are her spirit animal and she loves anything pink!  So I played with several ideas and came up the idea of using the shaker elements to create a banner and that I have started, I just cannot stop creating them!

This is the banner that I created for Abby's room!  It uses our new color that is appropriately called "Flamingo", the Acrylic Shapes, and our Silver Foil paper.  To incorporate the elements that I wanted to use (I wanted three of that cute flower for placement), I used three sets of the Acrylic shapes but you could certainly alter to so that you could use just one set.

Here is a banner that I created to hang on our Christmas tree - but it could easily be used on an interior door or as a wall hanging.  This one was created with a retired paper collection and it is available to purchase in my In All Sassiness Designs shop while supplies last.

Supplies used:  (Z4310) Shaker Window Foam and Acetate, (Z3366) Silver Foil Paper, (retired) Beary Christmas paper, (Z4304) Silver Loose Sequins, (Z341) Mini-Glue Dots, (Z679) Liquid Glass, (X7258C) Summer Vibes Coordinating Cardstock (Flamingo), (X7258E) Summer Vibes Acrylix Shapes, (Z4182) Thin Cuts - Stitched Hearts, (Z4309) Thin Cuts - Shaker Window and Confetti, (Z3563) Diamond Stickles and Ribbon.  Current Close To My Heart products may be purchased at: www.tonyasheridan.ctmh.com.

Note:  There will be a video posted soon with a step-by-step on how to create the shaker element banners.

Create sassily!

Complete Gnom-ness! (or cuteness in gnome!)

Are you ready??  I have to share this super cute, and fun, workshop that I designed for my upcoming Shamrock Crop.  Gnomes have been taking over the world, and my event, and I just had to design a home decor project that captured their sweetness!

This is a 6" x 6" White Shadow Box (which is included in the kit), and I have added Cricut cut gnomes, as well as other materials to create the project.  The paper featured is from the (X7248S) Every Little Thing Paper pack.  Other featured elements are the (Z3365) Gold Foil Paper, (Z3507) Julep Glitter Gems, (Z3609) Julep Shimmer Trim, (X6029) Julep cs, (1385) White Daisy cs, (X5949) Almond cs, (X6047) Black cs, (X6030) Evergreen cs and of course (Z3341) Thin 3-d Foam Dots.

If you are interested in taking part in this workshop, it will be Saturday, March 14th from 11am-noon at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel in Staunton, VA.  If you are not able to make it, you may also purchase the kit in my shop, and I can ship it to you.  The cost of the kit is $22 and includes the Shadow Box, pre-cut pieces, 1/2 pack of Foam Dots, bulk Julep Glitter Gems detailed instructions and a color photo.  You can register for the workshop, or order the kit, in my In All Sassiness Designs Shop by clicking here.  If attending the class in person, please register my March 10th so that I can cut your kit.

Artist note:  the Gnomes were purchased as an SVG file from Art Boutique Butterfly and then formatted, and adapted, for the Cricut, and this project by myself.

Desk Calendars created with Studio J

Studio J, Close To My Heart's on-line scrapbooking program has been pushed to the limits the past month, with consultant's and customer's alike, creating layouts and projects "out of the box" and the results have been absolutely amazing!

A colleague, and sister consultant, Sherri Bage Ballantyne created the idea to create 4" x 6" calendars in Studio J that could then be cut and placed in a desk frame!  She was generous enough to share her calendars grids that she created (i Publisher I think) with us.  I loaded her calendar into Studio J, and then added my own background, embellishments and photographs right into the wells.  Because my photos were taken across the span of 12 months, I opted to change them to black and white for continuity--this of course could be optional.  I chose to use Snowhaven for the paper collection.  And what is better, during the month of November, Studio J layouts are just $5 for a two page spread so my entire calendar cost me $5.00 plus shipping and tax!  These make a great gift for grandparents, moms, dads, and truly any loved one.

If you would like to make your own calendar, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com and I would love to help you get started!

Celebrate your family with Designed Decor Frames!

Have you seen Close To My Heart's new Designed Decor Frames??  Oh my goodness!!!!  If not, once you do, you will be in love!  My mind cannot stop the creative ideas from over flowing!  My favorite currently is the Black Shadow Box Frame - "which is made up of a wooden frame with hinged back that opens easily for loading.  Magnetic closure.  Sawtooth hangers on back.  Interior dimensions: 12" x 12".  Tray depth:  1/2".  Total depth with frame closed:  1 1/4"." These are fantastic for showing off your most recent layouts, for gifts and so much more.  In the coming days, I will be posting several here on my blog to showcase their complete awesomeness, but for today I wanted to share a scrabble tile frame that I created for my brother and sister in law.

To preface, BEFORE children, my husband and I used to spend hours playing Scrabble.  We absolutely loved it!  When my sister in law joined our family I learned that we had a common thread - she too was a Scrab-ble-ahoic!  Then at a recent Scrapbooking Expo I found Scrabble Tiles for sale and my mind started thinking--how fun would it be for me to create a piece of Scrabble art for Laura and Chad for their home?  So I did.  Each letter is adhered to the frame with mini-glue dots so that as their continues to grow, they can move the pieces to add their new additions.  I fell in love with the finished product and can't wait to make one for my family!

With Black Friday upon us, often the classic games like Scrabble can be found at deep discounts--what better time to create your own Scrabble art?  CTMH's Designed Decor Black Shadow Boxes  retail for $28.95, plus shipping and tax, and can be ordered by clicking here.

Life is easier with Picture My Life...

Our life is schedule-crazy!  Five people with five schedules all going in opposite directions and what seems like all at the same time!  I felt the need to start off the school year with an organized schedule and with that a place to keep every one's "where they needed to be's" all in one place SO, I created a family weekly schedule board with the For Always Picture My Life cards.  I created the artwork on a piece of art board and then inserted it into a frame that coordinated with the other frames in my kitchen. There is a card, with a tag, for each day of the week as well as an overview card for general tasks that need to be completed.  The colors work fabulous in my kitchen, however because they are neutral, they would actually look great with most color schemes.

Here is what the board looks like in "use"!

I also created a smaller frame for our monthly calendar.  I printed the calendar directly off of my Google drive.  I can then change it out each month.

And here are what the two look like as a pair.

I am so excited about how these turned out!  And starting off my year schedul-ized!

For those interested in creating the daily (top board) I will be teaching a class for this at our SPCA crop on Friday, September 26th at 6PM at the Holiday Inn Harrisonburg.  You do not have to be attending the crop to take the class.  More details will follow.  Supplies needed to create the board are:  Gold Sequin Assortment, For Always Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program and adhesive of choice.
