Thinking of You card kit

This morning I wanted to share my adaptation of the the Thinking of You card kit featuring the True Love paper suite.  I fell in love with this kit at first sight, but it wasn't until I actually worked with the stamp set, the color combinations and the papers that I truly fell in love even deeper! So deep, in fact, that I couldn't just create the two cards that CTMH designed but I had to continue to make four additional designs.  

I love the sentiment "it's okay to not be okay" - that reasoning is something that took me awhile to cope with and deal with when I was recently going thru Leukemia.  Sometimes we need time to cope and to deal with whatever is going on in our lives and I love that CTMH gets that.  

One of the awesome things about this stamp set is that the two sentiments are similar in size and shape so they can be interchanged on any of the cards.  Both fit inside the wreath which means you can use the sentiment that you like the best on your cards.

These cards use the waterbrush to color in the wreath and the large flowers.  This is a simple technique.  To create, you squeeze the center of the exclusive ink pads to transfer ink to the lid.  Next use the waterbrush to pick up the color from the lid and then color in the image.  It is so much easier than coloring with markers or watercolor pencils but gives that beautiful watercolor effect.

The top to cards, in the picture below, are the ones designed by CTMH and are in the Thinking of You Card Kit.  The lower two are ones that I designed for my card class that meets on Friday morning at 9:30am.  The class is $10 and we will create two each of the 4 designs.  All of the pieces are pre-cut for you.  Class will take place at the Hill's in Broadway.  The class is open to the public.  To register, e-mail me at: inallsassiness@gmail.com.

In addition to the above two cards, I also designed a supplement to my card class of two additional cards.  The supplement will include 4 cards - 2 each of 2 designs.  You can watercolor these in class and do the rest of the creating at home.

"You've Got This" card making kit plus bonus!

Today I wanted to share with you 4 cards that I created using the "You've Got This" Card Workshop Your Way Kit.  These were the cards that I taught in my monthly card club.

This card is my very favorite!  I used both our new Fancy Tags and Decorative Tags Thin Cuts to add additional flair to the card.  If you look closely, the scalloped circle was cut with the Fancy tag and then to make the full circle a circle rim, I cut the Basic circle from the inside of the scalloped circle.  For the Thank You tag, I cut the tag out in both White Daisy and Pomegranate.  I then hand cut the White Daisy along the inside of the stitching so that it would "nest" inside the Pomegranate without covering the dainty stitching.  Once adhered together, the combined pieces were popped up with Thin 3-d foam tape.  The Sapphire strip is embossed with the "x" Decorative Border.  The little Fern polka dot pennant is the tag from the Fancy Cut set with the hole covered up.  Fun right?

For this card, I used the design in the Card WYW kit, but tweaked to use different patterns in the Grateful Heart paper pack.  Instead of the Fern Stitched ribbon, I cut the vine border from the Decorative Border set.  

For this card, I created it similar to the original card but added a Sapphire base to add a little more pop of color.  I love the addition.  

This last card was a great way to use every little scrap left!  The design is certainly a keeper for that reason.  It is very simple, and the pennants can be changed and altered to match the scraps you have left over.  I love how the colors are very uni-sex and can be used for a make or female. For myself, if sending to a male I would most likely just take off the flower and still have an awesome card.

Such Big Smiles!

There is nothing better, or more powerful, than the smile of a child and the smiles in these photos were absolutely priceless to me!!  It's certainly Magical!  From all of my hundreds (yes, literally hundreds -- probably more like thousands) of pictures that I took at our Close To My Heart Convention this year, the photo on the left page of the layout with little Rylee smiling is my absolute favorite and the one that I couldn't wait to preserve!  A huge shout out to Close To My Heart and our friends Mickey and Minnie for helping create these adorable smiles!

To do so, I chose to "tweak" one of the layouts in the Magical Workshop Your Way.  I am so happy with how it turned out!  Of course, I added extra embellishments and "Minnie-fied" it...but that's me!

A Lovely Day - workshop your way

Tonight , I am sharing the second layout that I created with the Charlotte Workshop Your Way Kit - this WYW kit is beautiful!  Both, with what it includes, and the designs that you can create with it! The colors are soft and very neutral based which make it easy to coordinate with so many different pictures.  For my layout, I switched up the colors from the original guide to better work with my pictures - that is the beauty of these kits --everything within the kit coordinates so that you can interchange and it will still look great!

Charlotte Workshop Your Way - Celebrate love

Love can be found in many places correct?  So, love can be found in chocolate too...right?  For me it certainly was!  So when I saw this layout with the title "Celebrate love" I knew right away the pictures that I wanted to add to it -- now if I could just have some of that Gilli Chocolate...I know, a gal can dream right?
