30 Days of Thanksgiving: day 11

Day 11 – I am thankful for sand beaches and the oceans that crash on them.  I am thankful for that perfect feeling of tranquility that can only be found here; for the ocean breezes, the sounds of the waves, the smell of the air and the waves rolling across my toes.    I am thankful for the breathtaking views and my complete joy that I experience when at the shore.

Love Your Layout: June 2011

How to make a ribbon flower.

31 Studio J's in 31 days - Day 29

Such a cute little baby isn't he? Although, he is definitely not a baby anymore. My little Gabey-Luke, as we fondly called him when he was little, is now a big 5.0 and in Kindergarten...where on earth does the time go?  These pictures are some of my very favorites from when Gabriel was an infant, so I decided to scrapbook them with the Miracle paper collection (which I can just never seem to get enough of) using the Level 1 that was featured back in June.  CTMH has a great tutorial that teaches you how to create that sassy little ribbon flower that is in the bottom right hand corner of the layout.  The layout design is Card Trick which is Studio J Members exclusive design.  Want to try to create this layout yourself?  Watch the video and you will be ready to create!  And if you need a little help along the way, send me an e-mail and I will be happy to help you along the way.

Acrylic Book of Sweetness

I have a little niece who I absolutely adore! I made this little book for her of the first week of her life. I wanted to create something special that she could look back on in years to come and see all of the love that we have for her. So, this is what I created:

The dedication reads: "My dearest Addison, Today was such a special day because it was the day that you were given to us from the heavens. There are so many people who love you so very much: amazing parents, grandparents, and families who have loved you with all their hearts before you were even born. I was both blessed, and honored, to be able to hold you just a few minutes after you were born, and they were beautiful moments shared—moments that I will treasure forever. I cherish you dearly my little sweetheart! As you grow, please know that if you ever need an Auntie for anything—to share life’s experiences with (both the ups and the downs), to be silly with, and just be yourself with, I will always be here for you. I love you very much and am blessed that you are a part of my life. Always here for you, Auntie Tonya "
Supplies used: Acrylic Book, Miracle Level 2 Collection, Miracle Level One Collection (My Stickease), Miracle My Stickease, Miracle Constant Campaign Kit (Speciality pieces), D.E. Miracle, Love Story Rub-ons, Glitz Glitter Glue, Liquid Glass and Clear Button Assortment.
Colors Featured: Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue, Twilight, Sweet Leaf, Colonial White & Sweet Leaf.

Weekend Crop Layout Contest Entries

Two weeks ago, I held a weekend crop at the Mimslyn Inn in Luray, Virginia. As part of the weekend, I held a Layout Contest. Many of the croppers chose to participate. Each cropper was given the same basic materials (Miracle B&T paper, Kraft Borders, and coordinating cardstock). They could create their layout however they wanted. Some added additional embellishments and photographs. The layouts were wonderful and I just had to share them!! I love seeing various creations with the same materials!

Which layout is your favorite and why? Would love to know from all my followers!

a masculine approach...

This card was created from the same palette (the Miracle set) as the previous card, however by making the Bamboo one of the dominating colors, it gives a more masculine look. The finished card size is 8" x 3 1/2" which is perfect for graduations, masculine bithdays or even Father's Day.

The card design is the Right Design from the Wishes book. My Ultimate Scrapbooking Challenge: 184 cards. 49 complete. 135 to go.

Falling in Love...

With a new adorable card size: 3" x 4 1/2"! A small but powerful palette to work with! This is the first card that I have made from this size and I am loving it! Completely! I created the card from the Miracle Kit that CTMH offered for National Scrapbooking Month.
My Ultimate Scrapbooking Challenge: 184 cards. 48 designs completed. 136 to go! The design is Noteworthy from Wishes.

More of Miracle...

There is just something completely awesome about a grandmother, especially when the Grandmother whom is being talked about is my grandmother! My children ADORE her and that just makes me smile all over! I created this layout with the second mart of the Miracle kit and of course, I tweaked a few things (me....never!). I love how the Sweet Leaf pulls from the tomatoes in the garden!

If you haven't ordered this kit, it is definitely a must have for your list! and remember, it is only available until may 31st or while supplies last! Once you have played with the dimensional elements you will most likely even want two!

Miracle...kit & truth

The song Miracle by Celine Dion is one of my favorites, so when Close To My Heart introduced the Miracle Kit, it only seemed perfect to create a layout encompassing the lyrics to this beautiful song. And after many attempts to find the perfect pictures to fit my thought process, I found these beautiful pictures of my 3 little miracles. And the layout came together beautifully! Much like when watching a butterfly though, you have to look closely to see the many details...there you will find Liquid Glass, Close To My Heart's new glitter glue (available May 1st), and the amazing new color-resist Dimensional Element pieces. These particular DE are exclusive to the Miracle kit, but there are also new color resist Dimensional element pieces in our Summer Idea Book! Amazing! Stay tuned, as I promise you will love them!
As for the Miracle Kit, this exclusive kit is available between now and May 31st or while supplies last! E-mail me to find out how you can get a hold of your own Miracle kit! and maybe even at a discounted price!

Colors featured: Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, Colonial White, Olive and a touch of Heavenly Blue.
