Celebrate with Party Time!

Despite the craziness of 2020 and thus far on 2021, we at Close to My heart believe there is always something to celebrate!  This Party Time paper collection, available until August in our Annual Idea Book, has so much to offer and celebrate!  I LOVE it!  I have said it before, but what I love the most about this suite is that it is so versatile!  One side of the papers is adorned with shades of pinks and oranges and the reverse side is filled with shades of blues and greens!  The perfect combination!  You can create with the more "boyish" papers or the "girly" version or mix them all up!  I, for one, am not afraid to use pinks with my boys or blues with my daughter.  Not to mention that the papers are so vibrant in colors that make you want to celebrate the everyday happenings not just special occasions!

So with all of the above being said, I decided that I wanted to create 5" x 7" cards with the Artfully sent image and pair it with the Party Time papers.  To do this, I just had to do a few alterations in Design Space.  First, I changed the size of the card, and then I created a second card to use the negative space and letter cut outs from the first card in a second card.  For those who have this Cricut collection, I am attaching my file so that you can create even more variations.  You have to have Artfully Sent to use the file, but if you do not own this collection, keep reading and I explain how you can purchase it later in this post.  Click here for the link to my Design Space file.

Here are the finished cards!!  The possibilities are endless!

Thank You Flower Pot Card

Although the weekend certainly hasn't felt like autumn, autumn is most definitely here.  I adore the colors of the season and Close To My Heart's Pathfinding papers bring forth those colors.  I thought I would showcase the Pathfinding papers as well as the amazing Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge together in one card.  The card that I chose is indeed a simple card and one that allows for as little, or as much creativity as desired.

For the cover of the card, I used one of the sentiment style cards.  I embellished the card with Bronze Shimmer Trim, Liquid Glass (in the center of the Glacier flowers) and with Clear Sparkles colored Green with the ShinHan markers (there are three of these on the upper left Shimmer Trim and three of the lower right Shimmer Trim although they are difficult to see in the photograph.

For the inside of the card, I used Chocolate as the base (this is also visible on the front of the card), Barn Red as the pop up card, and for Autumn Terracotta, Olive and Goldrush for the details of the flower pot and flowers.  After the centers of the flowers were cut out I embossed them with the Dot Embossing Folder which added details to the flowers.  I then added additional Bronze Shimmer Trim on the inside of the card.

If you wanted to brighten up the card a little, you could also add one of the coordinating colors behind the words and the words would pop more.

Artfully Sent in a baby carriage...

This card was created with Close To My Heart's new cricut cartridge Artfully Sent and our Snowhaven paper collection.  The card itself only takes a few minutes to cut out--the time consuming part is trying to decide which cute papers to position where--at least that is always my struggle!  For this partricular card, I chose to use the Paper Fundamentals (Cranberry) which is a textured glossy on one side and a patterned solid/white print on the other side for the baby carriage--I simply paper pieced under the cut design and adhered down.  To make the Congrats sentiment stand out more against the polka dot pattern I used White Daisy Cardstock which I also used for the details of the carriage. I also used the Paper Fundamentals for the little baby clothes and underneath the letters in the baby blocks to make the letters stand out more.  For the sparkles, I used Clear Sparkles and colored them with the ShinHan markers...then added a piece of Bakers Twine and the card was complete!  Love it!

Following the mustache trend...

I have to admit, I am not quite sure that I understand the current trend and rage of popularity of the "mustache" but I love that Close To My Heart is once again right on trend and has their own cute version to share!  We have seen it on previous stamp sets, and on the Artiste cartridge and now it is also  featured on our new Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge.  This cute card took all of about 10 minutes, including cutting time, coloring of the sparkles time, and assembly time, to create!  Love the ease and simplification of the card!  And even more--having a masculine card to add to my card possibilities makes me happy!!!

The supply list is quite short and simple:

Because the Fundamentals Papers are double sided they create a great inside design....and the little mustache that was cut out of the front...what a great little accent to add as well...just choose your favorite or the one with the most character.

Artfully Sent delights!

Have you heard the news?  Close To My Heart introduced a new exclusive Cricut Collection last month called Artfully Sent!  The cartridge contains a wealth of interactive cards design and elements and hundreds of amazing graphics!  It is most certainly a card makers delight!  Not to say of course, that it can't be used in scrapooking as well...for those of you who are amazingly creative!

These cards were a part of a class that I taught over the weekend to show a sampling of what indeed the cartridge can do.  The papers used in creating the cards are our versatile Paper Fundamentals paper packs - these dual sided cardstocks feature a design with White Daisy on one side and the same design embossed on the other side.  They are a classic addition to any cardmakers collection.
