First card with Art Philosophy

My husband cut out this card with our new cartridge based on the instructions in the Cricut manual and as he jokingly said..."even a caveman can do it"...too funny! We tweaked the size so that it would fit in a standard envelope, changed the coloring and substituted the flowers. Love, love, love it! You too can create this adorable card at my Open House on Sunday from 4-7PM. Need directions, or more details, just e-mail me! The paper may change based on availability (and Fed Ex shipping), but the card design will remain the same!

This card features the new Wonderland paper, the Art Philosophy Cartridge & stamp set, and the colors of Chocolate, Twilight, Crystal Blue and White Daisy.

My hubby has the chirpin' fever!

Yes, you read that right! After years of having one in the house, my husband who can mass cut pieces with the Sizzix like there is no tomorrow when I need them, finally tried my Cricut tonight! And he is still creating! He was laughing at my friend John and I yesterday over our excitement in CTMH's new Art Philosophy cartridge, and now, he too has the chirping fever! I love you sweetheart! And thank you for taking an interest in my business! Chrip. Chirp away!

Let the fun begin!

Look what arrived at my house yesterday!! And only a few minutes before I had to go to work...made for a VERY LONG NIGHT!!! All I wanted to do was play! So, this morning, even before breakfast, look what I created?? Very exciting!! Oh my goodness...this cartridge is better than they promised!! Want to try it out?? Join me for my Open House on Sunday from 4:30-7pm at the Hill's in Broadway. Need even more play time...stay tuned for my new Cricut Play Days coming soon! If you would like to create this beautiful snowflake background, bring a well-loved Cricut 12x12 mat, choice of paper, and a Cricut tool or piercing tool with you! And who knows, there might even be a contest or two!

Convention Recap Day 1

So, due to the time change, and CTMH having so many wonderful things going on, I wasn't able to do much bloggin' while I was in California. I hope over the next few days to give you a glimpse of how awesome our trip was! So, "I'll start at the very beginning...a very good place to start!"...opps, that isn't a Disney song is it! lol!

On Wednesday, many of the consultants spent the day at a Leadership event. I wasn't able to attend (next year though) so I spent the day more or less relaxing...which was long overdue. That night my Grandma Up-line, Tina Sutton held a princess party for her team: The Scattered Hearts. We were invited to the royal celebration and invited to wear a princess dress. I opted out of the princess dress but instead chose to wear a tiara instead. She had an ooohh so cute project to work on and then had her awards ceremony. We had a wonderful time! With a royal flair and giving of the pins!

Our fearless leader, Tina...the Queen of Hearts!

Barb and Kelly Rizzo with a handmade gift the Kelly made! She is such a talented artist!

My Cruising' buddy, and dear friend Debbie Sims.

This was one of my favorite parts of convention as I have gotten to know many of my side lines on Tina's team and I loved being able to cheer on their successes. They are all such wonderful women and continue to inspire me each day! Each one with her own strength and who is not afraid to share their successes. I am honored to be apart of something so special! I have truly found my "place in this world"!

A very Merry Un-birthday to me..

A very merry
Unbirthday to you,
To you, A very merry
Unbirthday to you,
To you,
It's great to
Drink to someone ,
And I guess that
You will do,
A very merry
Unbirthday to you!

So, today must be a very merry unbirthday to me as look what Mr.Fed ex man dropped off at my house!! Yes, my Fall/Winter Idea Books are "in the house" (sorry, couldn't resist that one!). So very excited! He must of thought I was crazy as I rushed out of my house to carry in boxes that weighed a gazillion pounds! So worth the weight & wait though!

So, you might be asking...how can I get one of these exciting books??? You may pick one up at my Fall Open House on Sunday, July 31st from 4-7PM located at the Hill's in Broadway (e-mail me for directions) OR...if you can't hardly wait...and feel that the time is getting late...I will have them at my crop this weekend at the Plains Community Center from 9am-10pm for a $2 donation to FUN FOR EVERYONE - a playground project orchestrated by Katelyn Sonifrank for the Plains Elementary School.

For my distant customers, I will also be happy to send you a book for free mid-next week with any order over $25 or by itself still for free, but you pay a shipping fee of $3.

My "Wowie" artwork

This year at convention I was invited to a VIP event with my grandma up-line Tina Sutton. We had a fantastic dinner and then had a business building princess party. We were each asked to bring a "wowie" piece of artwork for an artwork contest. This is the piece I created ... & yes, it definitely wowed by son Gabriel. The little book tells about Gabriel's trip to the zoo to see the Polar Bears.

The magic of CTMH's How To Books!

Can you tell, I still have Disney on my brain? I am sure I will for quite awhile! Today I want to share with you some of the artwork that I created for my Convention that I wasn't able to share until I returned home. My friend Barb orchestrated many of the gals on the Scattered Hearts team to create an album for Tina who is my fearless leader and grandma up-line (who by the way finished with the top sales in the ENTIRE company! Wahoo Tina!). We each created a 6x6 page with the Sweetheart paper collection that included a picture of us with Tina and a short text about what she had done for us. I found the journaling to be challenging as most of you know me, I love to journal and confining what I wanted to say in such a small space! aaahhhH! Anyway, I used one of our designs from our card book to create the layout. I also created a card with the same pattern so that you could see how the patterns could be interchangeable! Love, love, love the versatility & magic of going back and forth!

This design is the card design Pieced Together from Wishes.

Butterflies

I know that I don't often post artwork that I have created that is not CTMH here, but I had to make an exception for this frame that I created for a display at my "other" job. The butterflies and glitter are from Martha Stewart; the title was cut with the Duan Jon font on the Cricut and the cardstock was from the Paper Company. Once completed, I showcased the layout in a deep 12x12 shadow box frame. If you live local, you can see my art piece at Michael's in Harrisonburg. Special thanks to Gabriel's teacher Mrs.Snyder for the phenomenal photograph!

What's that you say...Christmas in July?

Yes, it is that time of the year! July, the official start of Christmas card making season! Oh, so excited to get a jump start on Christmas cards this year! I love doing them now, because come November, I am oh, so burnt out and the last thing I have time for is making my Christmas cards. Love to create them? If so, join me for my Christmas card class tomorrow night, or contact me about having your own Christmas card workshop! e-mail me at: inallsassiness@juno.com to sign up.

Red, white and blue on paper!

Happy Fourth of July! This is a card that I made for my Uncle Wayne who has a July birthday. Don't worry...I don't think he reads my blog. I used the same stamping techniques as I did on my layout with Gabriel and the firetruck. I think it turned out quite festive. The photographs, not so much.

To create, this background, start with the largest stamp. Stamp once as a first generation stamping and then stamp again for a lighter, second generation stamping. Repeat with the second color. Then, move on to the next largest stamp.

Continue random stamping until the space if filled with images. Make a note to stamp some of the images off the page onto scrap paper so that it looks more like a piece of patterned paper.

Next, trim the paper down to the desired size. If dividing, divide on the trimmer so that the paper seems to continue on.

Create the card and you are done!

This particular card design is Framed Message from Originals. Completed size is: 5" x 7". My Ultimate Scrapbooking Challenge: 151 cards completed. 57 still to go.
