Nicholas and I spent Friday at the National Zoo and much to my surprise, Betty White was there as well! Nicholas was a little too young to know who she is, but Mommy sure knew! I used to love the Golden Girls...it was my favorite show to watch on Sat. nights while babysitting. What an honor to see Betty White! And thanks to my little man who patiently waited while I took a few pictures!
Our second favorite highlight was seeing the Panda up-close-and-personal. The last time we went to the National Zoo, the Pandas were so far away we could barely see them...this time, that was definitely not the case! This one was right up next to the fence and I didn't even need my zoom lens! Very cool.
The very best part of the day, was truly the day itself. Being able to spend "just us" time with Nicholas was such a blessing. He was so proud to introduce me to his friends, to lead me around the zoo by reading the map and just to have Mommy all to himself. We tried to take a picture of the two of us together and were somewhat successful...after about 5 shots of the tops of our heads, or one of us cut out etc. I will cherish this day for years to come because of the silly memories like these!
