Shaker Cards!

Following a month health hiatus, I am happy to be creating again.  My new found embellishing love is shaker cards!  They are so easy, yet so much fun to create.  Everyone at my Shamrock Crop was given one acetate circle and shaker ring to create with and it was exciting to see how creative everyone was with their cards.  I took so much inspiration away!

This weekend I created 2 shaker cards for my March Card Class.  I used the Stargazer paper and compliments that are now retired.  I had been holding on to these two rocket ships for boy birthday cards and the shaker elements just made them perfect!

A few very cool things to note about Close To My Heart's shaker cards tools/materials:

1.  The foam and acetate circles!  These are so easy to use!  The outer rim of the foam disk is adhered to the card.  The remaining 3-d foam tape is a bonus and can be used on this project as well as others!  Because it is the same height as the rim, I used the extra foam tape to level my rocket ships with the rims.  The acetate circle, which goes on top of the foam circle to seal the shaker pieces inside, has a cloudy film on it to protect the acetate from becoming scratched before you use it.  Genius right?

2.  Our exclusively designed Thin Cuts allows you to cut the circle the same size as the shaker element, as well as a stitched rim to go on top of the acetate - this is a creative way to cover up the 3-d foam tape so that it doesn't show through on your card and the stitched design is trending so "in" right now!  In addition, there are two dies - one to cut star confetti and one to cut heart confetti - that can enhance the shaker card even more!  Just cut away with a color of your choice, or one that matches your project and you have custom confetti!

3.  LOOSE Sequins!  So much fun!  You can fill your window with the sequins but you can also add a Mini-Glue dot to the back and embellish other areas of your card with the sequins - I so love when a product is multi-purpose and a little of the Loose Sequins goes a long way!
